De flesta har säkert läst "nyheten"
att CIA offentliggjort 700 sidor gamla
rapporter under den lockande rubriken
Tyvärr är det inget särskilt spännande
utan snarare sådan smörja som valsat
runt i de internationella medierna de
senaste 30 åren......
Däremot släppte man samtidigt två
stora dokumentsamlingar kring Sovjet
och Kommunistkina (CAESAR - POLO-
ESAU), som innehåller många timmars
spännande sommarläsning:
This collection of declassified analytic
monographs and reference aids,
designated within the Central
Intelligence Agency (CIA)
Directorate of Intelligence (DI) as
the CAESAR, ESAU, and POLO series,
highlights the CIA's efforts from the
1950s through the mid-1970s to pursue
in-depth research on Soviet and Chinese
internal politics and Sino-Soviet relations.
The documents reflect the views of seasoned
analysts who had followed closely their
special areas of research and whose views
were shaped in often heated debate.

Av specifikt svenskt intresse är t ex
en rapport om "Finlandiseringen", Sovjets
politiska strypgrepp om vårt östra
grannland. Tyvärr har ämnet fått förnyad
aktualitet när Putinokratin i Ryssland smider
planer på att kontrollera Västeuropa via
gasmonopolet.....
