Jihadisterna i Syrien vänder Al Qaeda ryggen ?

Islamic Awakening är ett viktigt jihadistiskt
forum på nätet. Just nu är det självklart den
islamistiska kampen i Syrien som är huvud-
temat.
Intressant nog betonar alltfler debattörer
vikten av att skapa informella och internationella
jihadistiska nätverk utanför Al Qaedas kontroll.
"My point is: an active, informal, transnational
network of mujahideen, with a lot of inter-
dependence, have formed after the Revolutions,
which is definitely outside AQ’s direct influence.
The heaviest nodes of this cluster are in Libya,
North Lebanon(Tripoli,Akkar, etc) and Syria."

stridande fraktioner. Antalet självständiga
väpnade grupper, styrda av egna emirer,
tycks hela tiden öka:
"Is a transnational rival network of Al
Qaaidah emerging?
Liwa al Ummah, the Syrian battalion commanded
by Libyan Mehdi al Harati (ex-commander of
Tripoli Brigade, which liberated Tripoli last year),
is a possible proof of that suggestion of mine.
Here is a Libyan-organized brigade,with newly
formed networks that emerged after the Arab
Spring, and which is working probably as a rival
of AQ.

Disunited muhajireen could be a serious problem,
and the leadership needs to look into this.
This is probably why Jabhat is seeking more and
more local allies, specially with Kataaib Ahrar
al Sham, with whom even a merger is possible.

Five major salafi jihadi groups inside Syria are
relevant now.
There are many more, but most don't have the
wide reach that these five have:

1. Kataaib Ahrar al Sham(strongest in Idlib,
Aleppo,Hama,Latakia provinces north
central al-Ghab Plain etc)
2. Jabhat an Nusrah(strongest in Deir az

 Zour,Idlib,Aleppo,Damascus,Hama,Homs
provinces etc)
3. Liwa al Islam(strongest in Damascus
and its countryside)
4. Sham Falcons(nominally FSA,strongest
 in Idlib and the north)
5. Katibat al Ansar(Homs)

Most significant FSA battalion now is Liwa al
Tawheed, formed with the unification of most
FSA brigades and battalions of Aleppo.
Their unification video has been posted more
than once on this thread; that video where
the fighters say Muhammad(sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam) is our leader .
Liwa al Tawheed has co-operated with Jabhat
Nusrah, ther'sa video on Youtube of that.

Then comes the much celebrated Al Farouq
Battalions of FSA,led by the charismatic Abdur
Razzaq Tlass, nephew of Manaf Tlass,a scion
of the powerful Tlass family.
Strong in Homs,Rastan,Qusayr etc and now
Idlib province too. Early in the armed uprising,
they had spewed some venom against AQ,but
later on all that vanished,as many Fallujah
veterans joined the Battalion, and it became
prominently jihadi. But i have suspicions of
their links with Gulf intelligence agencies.
