övervakats av säkerhetstjänsten p g a sina
islamistiska kontakter.

symptomen:
begå jihad i Europa.

has been formally identified as Ayoub el-Khazzani.
A Spanish intelligence source has also said he was being
watched by counter-terror forces in the country because
he travelled to war-torn Syria and was believed to
have links to ISIS.

The French government confirmed the gunman was a
26-year-old Moroccan man who was known to Spanish
intelligence services as a possible radical Islamist.
The counter-terror source said he lived in the Spanish port
of Algeciras for around a year.
He added: "In 2014 he went to France, then to Syria, and
then he returned to France."

packed train travelling from Amsterdam to Paris via Belgium.
He was tackled by two US servicemen, a student and a
Brit IT worker, who managed to subdue him until he was
arrested in the north of France.
The French interior minister, Bernard Cazeneuve, said Khazzani moved to Belgium in 2015. It is believed he boarded the train at Brussels station.

He said: "He was flagged up by Spanish security services
in 2014 because of his involvement with the radical
Islamist movement."
The gunman reportedly had extremist ties in both Algeciras
and in Belgium.

Sources told French local news site that
Khazzani was part of the jihadi group targeted by an
anti-terror raid in Verviers, eastern Belgium, in January.
He reportedly denies a terrorist motive.
Brit passenger Chris Norman, 62, is being hailed as a
hero for jumping the gunman, along with US airman
Spencer Stone, Alek Skarlatos from the Oregon National
Guard, and their friend Anthony Sadler.
